Tiny tots combo class (Ages 3-4 years old)

A combination class that is offered to introduce to the students three forms of dance. This class is one and a half (1 1/2 hrs.) hours in length that encompasses tap, jazz and acrobatics. Each discipline lasting 1/2 hour each totaling the 1 1/2 hours. The students will perform in the end of the year production with two dance routines, one in tap and one in jazz.

Jazz (Ages 3 and up):

Jazz instruction begins with basic motion/motor skills. A few of the basic types of movement a child at this level will learn is skipping, hopping, gliding, and jumping. This type of movement then leads to jazz steps and combinations. Children learn to enjoy dancing while building their dance technical foundation. Older students are taught warm-up techniques to help strengthen them as dancers and prepare them for the more difficult combinations and moves.

Tap (Ages 3 and up):

Tap dancing is a blend of syncopated rhythms which emphasizes footwork and the expression of rhythm through sound. All classes work on basic tap skills, progressing through tap steps, combinations, and eventually dance routines.

Ballet/Pointe (Ages 5 and up):

Ballet is the basic form of all dance! Therefore, anyone wishing to be an accomplished dancer must be well trained in ballet. Pointe class may be taken along with regular ballet class after the student has mastered the basic ballet technique. The ballet teacher will suggest when pointe would be appropriate. All pointe shoes should be approved by the instructor.
